The World Energy Council has announced the addition of 59 new members to its global Future Energy Leaders (FEL) programme for 2026, recognising outstanding young professionals from across the world working to shape the future of energy systems.

Among those selected is Cherop Soy of Enzi Ijayo, whose inclusion reflects both professional excellence and a strong commitment to advancing sustainable and inclusive energy solutions.

The Future Energy Leaders programme is a flagship initiative of the World Energy Council, designed to identify, inspire and support the next generation of energy leaders. Participants join a global network of peers and gain opportunities to contribute to international energy dialogues, collaborate across sectors and participate in major convenings such as the World Energy Congress.

By bringing together emerging leaders from diverse regions and disciplines, the programme plays a key role in fostering innovative thinking and strengthening global cooperation in addressing pressing energy and sustainability challenges.

Cherop Soy’s selection highlights the increasing importance of African leadership in global energy transitions, particularly in shaping pathways that are equitable, resilient and responsive to regional priorities.
